Reading the secular press on Benedict XVI—‘failed papacy’, ‘Church in decline’, ‘lingering sex abuse crisis’, ‘desires of the young/women/GLBTQ’, ‘political irrelevance’—I asked myself, “These analysts just don’t get the Church.
